{ you thought i was joking }

Traditions…. you have any?  They seem to come out more during the holiday season and for me and my family…no exception.  Some are cool and hip, others are just done without question.

Here is my story.

December 1970, started off like any other holiday season.  I was a bundle of baby joy getting ready to celebrate my first Christmas and….

You know what? I’m not going to bore anyone with the details.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words?  Well, if my math is correct…here comes 43,000 words.

Have a Merry Christmas and don’t be afraid to start (and keep) a family tradition. Ho ho ho! (See  below for “Best and Worst Of”)

Best (and worst) of…..

Best Smile: This was tough!!  I hate my smile, but the there was a tie.  1970 and 1993.  You know Santa had that “Oh, S” look in his eye when my mamma brought me up thinking I was have soiled diapers and screaming.  Nope…I rule!  The 1993 smile just seems plain and genuine.

Worst Smile: 1986

Best Outfit: 2004 (blue is my jam)

Worst Outfit: ‘K…here we go.  1982, 1985 (the “collar” was pajama tops), and 1994.  You could argue there were some before 1982 to make this list, but I was really going after the ones I had some say in what I wore.

Best Hair: 2012. C’mon…42 and still rockin’ this full head of hair.

Worst Hair: 1978, 1980-1984, 1987, 1990

Finally

Best Santa: 1975, 1998, 2001, 2008

Worst Santa: 1977, 1979, 1986 (only because he blinked), 1992 (I still remember the cigarette smell on his beard), 1993 (C’mon dude…look at the camera!), 2002 (Yes, I do believe this was a lady).

  1. Tory I think 1998! I mean look at that hand placement and what is with his homemade Santa shirt?! That doesn’t qualify for a santa suit!! This is just too great….the whole thing. :)

  2. I can’t stop laughing. I think my favorite is the one of Jackson crying, 2009. Plus, Santa was a little creepy and plastic looking. Great post! Merry Christmas :)

  3. OMG these are hilarious! It’s like I just traveled through time with all the clothes & facial hair. And why are the Santas always making such creepy faces? :)
